Table T9

Tableau’s FireWire Investigation Bridge brings secure hardware write blocking to FireWire storage devices. The T9 supports FireWire800 (1394B) and FireWire400 (1394A) storage devices using the Serial Bus Protocol-2 (SBP-2) storage protocol. The T9 works universally with FireWire external hard drives, FireWire RAID arrays, older Apple iPod models with FireWire interfaces, and other FireWire storage devices.
The T9 can also be used to create images of Apple desktops or laptops booted into Target Disk Mode. Target Disk Mode is a special boot mode unique to Apple computers in which the computers emulate one or more SBP-2 FireWire storage devices. By using Tableau's T9 with Apple's target disk mode, it becomes possible to acquire investigative images from Apple computers without disassembling the computers, saving investigators considerable time and protecting them from significant risks.
