Managing a post-blast / post-terrorist attack crime scene is highly specific, as it takes place within a dangerous context involving the hypothetical presence of terrorists and unexploded devices that may be un-neutralized and/or remotely detonated.
Investigations must be exceptionally rigorous, not only to track down the terrorists but also to ensure the identification of victims.
Attack scenes are often spread over vast areas. Therefore, it is crucial to divide the zones and grid the entire scene.
This is why FMS, in addition to standard equipment used across all crime scenes, has put together a specialized kit for post-attack scene management.
